I chose to come to Carleton for the strong academic and athletic programs and the welcoming team and campus environments I experienced on my visit.

The balance between academics and athletics
OFF-CAMPUS STUDY OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Climate Change and Human Health in Ethiopia. This two-week winter break program gave me the opportunity to go abroad without missing a season of competition. I loved meeting new people in Ethiopia and studying large-scale problems through a solutions-oriented mindset.
INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Surgical Shadow Extern at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. I spent a week shadowing in general surgery with Dr. David Larsen. This experience strengthened my desire to pursue a career in medicine and gave me valuable exposure to the operating room.

Backpacking, hammocking, paddleboarding
