Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country Course
Women's Cross Country team running at the start of the race

The Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country course previously hosted the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Central Region Championships, the 2024 NCAA North Region Championships, and the 2019 and 2023 MIAC Championships.

The Cross Country National Championships marks the sixth time that Carleton has hosted the NCAA Championships. Previously, Carleton's Laird Stadium was the site of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 1984, 1988, and 1995. The school also hosted the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships in 1993, and the NCAA Division III Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in 2006. This is in addition to previous hosting for first/second round games during NCAA Championships for women's basketball, men's soccer, and women's soccer.
