POST-CARLETON GOAL(S)…
After Carleton, I hope to continue on to research and graduate study in Economics. Eventually, I would like to end up teaching as a professor, educating the next generation and doing research to help society at large.
I CHOSE TO COME TO CARLETON BECAUSE…
I chose Carleton because of the people. Of all the schools I visited, it had the most genuine and kind people.
WHAT I MOST LIKE ABOUT CARLETON IS…
My favorite thing about Carleton is the mixing between different social groups. Although I am a swimmer, I am also active in the swing dance, bridge, and board game clubs on campus, and I am far from the only one who engages in such disparate activities. I love that everyone on campus moves through different social groups and I think it makes everyone more interesting and well-rounded.
INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Carleton College Economics Department.
The summer after my sophomore year, I did research with an Economics professor on campus. I worked on data cleaning for a survey of his, and towards the end of the summer, I even wrote the first draft of a major portion of his literature review. It was a great experience to see how research happens in the world outside of classes.
MY INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
The research experience after my sophomore year gave me a great opportunity to see what research looked like in the real world and to hone my particular skills with data work.
