FARMINGTON, Minn. - Carleton junior Madeleine Dimitre has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday following her performance on the opening weekend of the Knights' 2026 season in the Pacific Coast Classic. 

The San Francisco native tallied 115 digs to help the Knights go 2-2 on opening weekend with victories over Western New England (9/4) and Chapman (9/5). After recording 35 digs and five assists against Pomona-Pitzer on 09/4, Dimitre went on to tally 21 digs, three service aces, and a trio of assists during the win over WNE.

She then posted 28 digs and six assists in a four-set win over Chapman and capped off the weekend with 31 digs and five assists against Occidental. Dimitre's tournament performance ranked second in all of NCAA Division III for digs per set (8.21) and fourth for total digs (115). She also led the MIAC in both categories. 

Dimitre and her teammates will be back in action this weekend when the Knights head north to St. Paul to compete in the Macalester Invite.  Carleton will take on Central College (IA) on Friday afternoon at 3pm and finish off the weekend with a pair of matches on Saturday against the University of Minnesota-Morris at 10am and the University of Wisconsin-Superior at 2pm.
