FARMINGTON, Minn. - Carleton football wideout and kick returner Tyler Dimond was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (MIAC) Special Teams Player of the Week after starring in the Knights' 48-45 win over Macalester.

Dimond contributed four touchdowns in the Carleton victory over the Scots on Sept. 19, including a special-teams score while racking up 186 all-purpose yards. The senior returned three kickoffs for 122 yards, with one of those returns going for 83 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown was Carleton's first kickoff return TD since Oct. 2, 2021, when Travis Brown did it against Macalester. The wide receiver also made crucial contributions on offense. He had a total of 6 catches for 53 yards and a touchdown, completed 2-of-2 passes for 50 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 11 yards on two carries. Dimond's game-winning touchdown reception with 20 seconds remaining helped the Knights retain the Book of Knowledge Trophy and moved him into a tie for second all-time in Carleton history for career touchdown receptions (see chart below).

Dimond and his teammates return to the field next Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1:00 p.m. for a rivalry meeting against St. Olaf College at Klein Field.
