Smith named MIAC Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Minn. - Megan Smith, senior setter for Carleton, was named Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week by the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in a league announcement Monday.

Smith totaled 126 assists (10.50/set), 37 digs (3.08/set), 8 kills and 3 service aces across three matches as Carleton went undefeated at the St. Paul Invitational. She recorded an assist-dig double-double in all three contests. Smith directed the Knights' offense throughout the weekend, highlighted by a career-high 53 assists and 11 digs in a five-set victory over Minnesota-Morris on Sept. 12. Smith ranks third in NCAA Division III and first in the MIAC at 10.41 assists per set this season. Carleton has won consecutive Specialty Player of the Week awards after Madeleine Dimitre was selected last week.

Knights volleyball hits the court next on Wednesday, Sept. 16 for a home match against Crown College. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
