LAKE CITY, Minn. – The Carleton women's golf team posted a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) single-round team record to pull away from a five-team field and win the Spring Finale by 16 strokes on Sunday at The Jewel Golf Club. The Knights shot a three-under-par 289 as a team on their way to the new MIAC record and placed five individuals in the top 10.
Entering the day second behind Raquel Ahrens for St. Catherine, sophomore
Anna Lee blazed through all 18 holes, carding a career-best three-under-par 70 in Sunday's final round. Her round was highlighted by six birdies and is her first collegiate round under par. She combined a three-over 76 Saturday with Sunday's result, giving her a two-round total of even par to earn her first collegiate individual win.
Senior
Carter Sichol followed close behind in a tie for second with Caylin Cantwell of St. Catherine. Sichol was even par at the turn on Sunday before birdies on three of the final five holes to come in roaring with a two-under-par 71. Sunday's final round is her lowest of the spring and gave her a two-round total of 149 (+3) on the weekend.
Fellow senior
Cynthia Lu joined the low scoring on Sunday, firing an even-par 73, her lowest of the year and second lowest of her Carleton career. Her round was highlighted by a brilliant start with an eagle on the 510-yard par-five first hole. She collected three more birdies on the back nine on the way to the 73, giving her a two-round score of 151 (+5) on the weekend. That was good enough to place her in a tie for fifth place.
Sarah Zheng joined her teammates in the top 10 with a solo seventh place finish. Zheng opened on a bang with a birdie on the first and was even par on the back nine to total a two-over-par 75. Her final round tied her best round of the year relative to par, a feat she had produced on a pair of other occasions. Junior
Mindy Zhai, who competed as an individual, was the final Knight in the top 10, placing in a tie for 10th following a four-over par 77. Combined with Saturday's 82 (+9), Zhai's weekend total came to 159 (+13).
Senior
Natalie Tatar rounded out the Knights starting lineup with a six-over-par 79 on Sunday. She finished strong with a birdie on the last hole, a 437-yard par-five to finish with some momentum. Tatar posted a two-day total of 166 (+20) to finish tied for 19th.
Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will now have two weeks off before heading to Palm Desert, California and Desert Willows Golf Resort. The Knights will begin competition in the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships on Tuesday, May 19.
