MINNEAPOLIS – The Carleton College women's tennis team improved to 10-4 on the season and 6-0 in MIAC action with a 7-0 triumph over Macalester College.

Varinn Sood each won their singles and doubles matches.
Dineva and Sood got Carleton off on the right foot with a quick 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. Marks and Witter followed with a 6-4 result atop the lineup to claim the doubles team point for the Knights, with
Kiley Pickens and
Gabriela Cilella contributing a 7-5 win at the second spot to complete the sweep.
Kat Smiricinschi was first to win in singles, collecting a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the sixth slot to remain undefeated in solo play this campaign. Sood followed with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at No. 5 singles, and Dineva notched her team-high 12th win of the season when she added a 6-0, 6-4 win at the fourth spot in the lineup.
Peggy Fu improved to 11-3 with her 6-4, 6-2 result at No. 3 singles, while Witter tallied a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. Marks completed the singles sweep for Carleton with her 6-1, 6-3 triumph at the top spot in the Knights' lineup.
The loss drops Macalester to 5-5 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
