BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Carleton College righthander
Rachel Block secured her first career MIAC Pitcher of the Week award after going 2-0 with a 0.47 ERA in a pair of complete-game starts last week.
She held the opposition to a .167 batting average over the two outings allowing only nine hits overall.
Block tallied a career-best eight strikeouts in an 3-2 extra-inning victory over Bethel on April 15, yielding one earned run on four hits over 8.0 frames. She capped the week with another route-going effort, this time a five-hitter in a 7-1 win at Hamline on April 19. The run in that contest was unearned.
