NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Carleton College sophomore point guard
Addy Huss was voted to the D3hoops.com All-Region Team for Region IX. She is the 10th Carleton's women's basketball player to earn All-Region recognition (see chart below).
This is the 25th season that D3hoops.com named All-Region teams, with five players apiece landing on the first, second, and third teams. Huss, who was previously selected to the All-MIAC First Team—becoming the first Carleton player in 17 years capture All-MIAC status for her first two collegiate seasons—is a third-team pick and is 1 of only 4 sophomores listed among the area's 15 total All-Region honorees.
Huss averaged 17.4 points (seventh in the region heading into the NCAA Tournament) while shooting .449 overall (18th in the region). She scored in double digits in 21 of 25 contests, tallied at least 20 points on nine occasions and had two 30-plus point performances: a 30-point game against Saint Benedict and a 35-point effort versus Bethany Lutheran.
More than just a prolific scorer, Huss had a nose for the ball and ranked 11th in the region at 8.0 rebounds per game and was third with 6.9 defensive rebounds per game. Her 3.5 assists and 2.1 steals per contest ranked 15th and 27th, respectively, in the region.
An all-around performer, Huss was the only player in Region 9 to average at least 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game this season. In 15 games against postseason qualifiers—including four games against NCAA Sweet Sixteen teams—Huss averaged 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.1 steals.
