Addy Huss' 21-point, nine-rebound performance was not enough to overcome a hot-shooting day from Macalester College, as the Carleton College women's basketball team fell 81-51 in its final home game of the 2025-26 season.
The game served as Senior Night for Carleton's
Opal Burruss,
Liz Hiatt, and
Jasmine Maldonado. All three players have unfortunately suffered injuries this year, but Carleton head coach
Tammy Metcalf-Filzen praised the group's resolve and presence, saying, "[Opal, Liz, and Jasmine] have been rock-solid for us. They've been through a lot of adversity and kept working. I'll miss them because of that, and because they've done everything they can to lead this program even when on the sideline."
Huss shot 8-for-17 from the field to earn her ninth 20-point performance of the year. The sophomore also posted a steal and a block.
Audrey Whitney chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
Taylor Dente hit a pair of threes off the bench, her eighth game with multiple triples this year.
The Knights (7-17, 4-13 MIAC) held onto the ball, carding a 10-to-8 assist-to-turnover ratio, but had a cold day from the field, shooting 28.8 percent in total and 20.0 percent (5-for-25) from three. Macalester (3-20, 2-15 MIAC) put it all together at West Gym, hitting 55.0 percent of its field goals for the program's hottest shooting performance since Dec. 30, 2016. The Scots also hit 10-of-22 threes (43.5 percent), their best mark of the year. The Scots out-rebounded Carleton 43-31 and got 29 points from their bench.
Macalester started with a 5-0 lead after two early buckets, but Carleton pulled back to within one with a pair of makes. The Scots stayed narrowly in front for much of the first quarter. Huss started the game 3-for-3, hitting a tough pull-up jumper at the 2:38 mark to bring Carleton to within 13-11. The visitors then embarked on a 7-0 run and led 22-14 after the first quarter.
The Knights got back within five points with 3:19 remaining in the second quarter after
Liesl McCallum hit a free throw to make it 30-25, and a McCallum lay-in capped the half's scoring a couple minutes later, bringing the scoreline to 35-29 in favor of Macalester.
The Scots controlled the third quarter, shooting 56.3 percent in the frame while holding Carleton to 16.7. The run helped Macalester built a 21-point lead after three frames, and the visitors closed the book in the fourth to earn their first win at West Gym since 2018.
The Scots spread the wealth, with 10 players finding the scoresheet. Mary Daley and Megan Matthews led the way with 15 points apiece. Daley contributed seven rebounds, six assists, and two blocks. Cady Davis also posted 14 points.

Carleton wraps up its 2025-26 slate with a clash at rival St. Olaf College on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Knights have already secured possession of the President's Cup for the season but will look to go into the offseason with a win over their crosstown foe.
