NORTHFIELD, Minn. –
Liesl McCallum tallied a team-high 19 points, but the Carleton College women's basketball team was unable to keep pace early with No. 24-ranked Bethel University and ultimately fell to the Royals, 77-59.
Carleton (7-16, 4-12 MIAC) point guard
Addy Huss stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, nine rebounds, a career-high eight assists, three steals, and a blocked shot.

Audrey Whitney contributed 10 points apiece.
After the Knights grabbed an early 4-2 lead, Bethel (17-6, 12-4 MIAC) closed the first quarter on a 19-6 run and led by at least nine points the rest of the way as the Royals clinched a berth in the MIAC Playoffs for the 12th consecutive season.
The Royals built their largest lead of the game at 52-26 with 6:30 let in the third quarter, but Carleton responded with a 14-2 run over the next five minutes and ended up shooting 60 percent in the period.
The Knights kept chipping away and closed to within 65-55 with 4:30 still to play, but the Royals were able to avoid the upset and sealed the victory.
Bethel out-rebounded Carleton 49-28, including 17 offensive rebounds that led to 16 second-chance points. The Royals were led by Emily Erickson, who finished with a game-high 27 points. Rosalie Penke chipped in 17 points for Bethel, which received a 12-point performance from Cally Peterson and an 11-point, 11-assist double-double from Colette Duininck.
Bethel shot 42.0 percent for the game and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc while Carleton managed to connect at a 36.8 percent clip overall but was only 1-of-19 (5.3 percent) from 3-point range.
