BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After a runner-up performance in the regular season and playoffs, the Carleton College men's tennis team saw seven athletes collect a total of 13 postseason awards from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) coaches for the 2024-25 campaign. Five Knights were tabbed for the All-MIAC singles team, six were named to the All-MIAC doubles squad, and two players were selected for the All-Playoff Team.
Sophomores
Baiyun Jing and
Jasper Yang were named to the All-MIAC singles team, alongside first-years
Aiden Patel, Ezra Bernhard, and
Akshay Garapati. Jing manned the No. 1 singles spot, posting an 11-7 record overall and a 6-2 mark in MIAC play. This was his second All-MIAC singles selection. Yang went 14-2 overall at the top two spots in the lineup, including a 5-1 ledger in conference matches for his second All-MIAC singles nod. Yang won both matches he played at No. 1 singles.
Patel led the Knights in singles wins this season, going 17-2 at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots, carding a perfect 8-0 MIAC record. Playing from No. 3-6 singles, Bernhard went 12-5 overall and 6-1 in conference contests. Garapati was 13-2 for the season and 7-1 in MIAC action at No. 3-6 singles.
All of Carleton's main doubles players received All-MIAC doubles nods as the Knights went an impressive 23-4 in conference doubles play. Bernhard, Garapati, Jing, and Patel doubled up on honors, and juniors
Zach Leslie and
Jack Rivkin joined them on the squad. This was both Leslie and Rivkin's second time on the All-MIAC doubles list. Rivkin and Garapati posted a 16-6 overall record and a 6-2 mark at No. 1 doubles. Jing and Leslie were 14-6 overall and 8-1 in MIAC play, mostly at No. 2 doubles, while Patel and Bernhard went 7-1 in MIAC matches and 14-4 overall.
Garapati and Rivkin also earned a spot on the All-Playoff team. This was Rivkin's second time being honored for postseason play. During the MIAC Championship match, the pair bested the 2024 national champions and 2025 No. 6-ranked doubles team in the nation, becoming the only tandem to beat anyone from No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus in doubles.
Carleton was nationally ranked throughout the 2025 portion of the season, going 17-4 overall and 8-1 in MIAC action. The Knights went 96-24 in singles matches this season, with a 48-6 mark in the MIAC. In doubles play, the Knights were 46-16 overall and 23-4 in conference.
