ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The No. 16-ranked Carleton College women's golf team finished as runners up at the 2024 MIAC Championships.
Carter Sichol,
Anna Lee, and
Sarah Zheng earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
"The women finished off the weekend with another very consistent round," said Carleton head coach
Sloan Wallgren. "I'm really proud of the entire team. Congrats to Carter, Anna, and Sarah for earning All-Tournament Team recognition. We will look to regroup and put together a solid final event for the fall in Florida."
Carleton (+71, 935) played steady throughout the tournament posting a team score of 311 in the first round followed by a 312 in both the second and final rounds. The Knights were second after the first day and maintained that position throughout the 54-hole tournament.
No. 9 St Catherine University (+40, 904) led wire-to-wire in claiming its second straight conference title. The Wildcats tied the Knights' MIAC Championships 54-hole scoring record set in 2018. St. Catherine and Carleton own the nine lowest 54-hole team scores in MIAC Championships history (see chart below).
Bethel University (+73, 937), Macalester College (+101, 965), and Gustavus Adolphus (+125, 989) also finished among the top-5.
Sichol (77-77-75=229) climbed two spots on Monday and finished fourth overall at 13-over par. She had two more birdies during the final round, giving her seven for the tournament.
Lee (78-79-77=234) continued her steady play and collected 13 pars on the day as she jumped three spots into a tie for seventh place (+18). Meanwhile, Zheng (80-79-77=236) shook off a slow start and moved two spots during the final round and into a tie for 10th place (+20). Zheng was already 4-over after the first three holes but got on track and played the final 15 holes at 1-over par, including birdies on No. 10 and No.12.
Cynthia Lu (76-80-83=239) finished at 23-over par for the three-day tournament, settling into 15th place.
Mindy Zhai entered the final round in 15th place but was forced to withdraw midway through Monday's round.
Sichol, Lee, and Zheng will automatically earn all-conference honors when the MIAC 2024-25 season awards are announced in May.

Carleton will play at the Golfweek D-III Fall Invitational from Oct. 13-15 in Miramar Beach, Fla.
