ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College women's tennis team began the conference slate with a 9-0 win at Hamline University.
Mariam Nechiporuk and
Ryann Witter both played a part in singles and doubles victories.
Nechiporuk teamed with
Amelia Asfaw for an 8-0 triumph at top the doubles lineup. Witter and
Ingrid Smith prevailed 8-4 at the second slot, while
Zoe Rose and
Miriam Shteyman won 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
Carleton (1-0, 1-0 MIAC) then secured straight-set victories at all six singles slots to close out the victory.
Nechiporuk improved to 3-0 all-time at No. 1 singles as she notched a 6-0, 6-2 result. Playing at No. 2 singles for the first time in her collegiate career, Witter swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Piper Brown cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the third slot and improved to 14-0 over her career for singles play during dual matches.
Kat Smiricinschi secured a 6-2, 6-0 result at No. 4 singles, improving to 5-0 all-time for dual matches.
Amanda Black contributed a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the fifth slot, and
Clara Mast appeared in her first MIAC match, collecting a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.

Carleton travels to Luther College for a 2:30 p.m. match on Saturday, Sept. 28 before journeying the next afternoon for a competition at Concordia College-Moorhead
