ROCHESTER, Minn. – The No. 34-ranked Carleton College women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 neutral-site victory over St. Catherine University.
Amelia Asfaw and
Mary Hose led the charge with victories in both singles and doubles.
Carleton improved to 10-0 overall and a conference-best 5-0 in MIAC matches.
Kat Smiricinschi and
Ryann Witter gave the Knights and early lead with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles, improving to 5-0 as a tandem this season.
Mariam Nechiporuk and
Ingrid Smith followed with an 8-3 triumph at the second slot while atop the lineup Asfaw and Hose closed out the doubles sweep by the same score.
In singles action, Hose quickly notched a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles to improve to 8-1 on the season.
Miriam Shteyman clinched the team win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles moments before
Kiley Pickens moved to 10-0 this season by securing a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 4 singles.
Piper Brown contributed a 6-3, 6-2 result at No. 6 singles, while Asfaw closed out her win at No. 1 singles by a 6-3, 6-0 tally.
Zoe Rose faced the toughest test but prevailed 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
