ROCHESTER, Minn. – The No. 39-ranked Carleton College women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 victory over University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a neutral site match on Saturday afternoon.
Amelia Asfaw,
Mary Hose,
Mariam Nechiporuk, and
Ingrid Smith each won in both singles and doubles.
The Knights (5-0) jumped out to an early lead with a doubles sweep and never looked back. Asfaw and Hose prevailed 8-3 atop the lineup, with Nechiporuk and Smith securing an 8-1 win at the No. 2 slot.
Kat Smiricinschi and
Ryann Witter added an 8-6 win at the third slot.
Carleton won all six singles matches in straight sets. Asfaw cruised at No. 1 singles, dispatching of regionally-ranked Samantha Fuchs by a 6-0, 6-0 tally, while Hose remained undefeated this season after adding a 6-1, 6-1 result at the second slot. Nechiporuk picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles
Miriam Shteyman and
Kiley Pickens both improved to 5-0 this season, the former winning 6-4, 6-4 victory at the fourth spot with the latter claiming a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles.
Smith closed out the match with her 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) victory at the sixth slot.
The loss dropped UW-Eau Claire to 5-3 on the season.

Carleton will face Minnesota University-Mankato, a NCAA Division II program, in another neutral site clash in Rochester on Saturday, March 2.
