Jack Curtis and Tyler Dimond selected for D3football.com national Team of the Week

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – One day after receiving conference weekly honors, Carleton College quarterback Jack Curtis and wide receiver Tyler Diamond were both tabbed to the D3football.com national Team of the Week.

This is both players' initial appearance on the Team of the Week, which is D3football.com's weekly honor roll for recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. This is the 32nd and 33rd times that Carleton players have earned spots on the national Team of the Week and the sixth time that they have grabbed multiple slots in the same week.

Curtis and Dimond both had career days as they gave the defense fits in the Knights' 51-17 triumph over Gustavus Adolphus College. It was Carleton's first victory over the Gusties since 1996, snapping a 26-game losing streak in the series.

Curtis tied the MIAC record with 7 touchdown passes, which established a new Carleton standard as well as matched the most TD passes in a game this season across all divisions of NCAA football. He completed 71.8 percent of his passes (28-of-39) and accumulated a career-best 469 passing yards. That figure ranks fourth in team history and is fourth among Division III signal callers this season (and 20th across all levels of NCAA football).

Curtis averaged 16.75 yards per completion overall and 24.1 yards per scoring strike as his touchdown passes came on plays of 3, 15, 21, 17, 49, 39, and 25 yards. Add in his team-high 54 rushing yards, and he finished with 523 yards of offense, the third-highest total in Division III this fall and eighth across all levels of NCAA football.

Dimond's career-high 12 receptions totaled a career-best 282 receiving yards. His yardage total is the most in NCAA Division III this season and the third-highest figure in MIAC history, falling only 3 yards shy of the Carleton team record set by Jim Bradford in 1990, also against Gustavus.

Dimond hauled in four of Curtis' touchdowns passes on plays of 15, 21, 49, and 39 yards. This was Dimond's second 4-TD game this fall, marking the first time that a Carleton player had multiple games of 4+ touchdown grabs in the same season. He averaged 23.5 yards per reception while posting his sixth career game of 100+ receiving yards and fourth such game this season.
