COLFAX, Wis. --- The No. 3-ranked Carleton College women's cross country program put four of their five scorers inside the top-10 and claimed the team victory at the NCAA North Region Championships and an automatic bid to next week's NCAA Division III Championships. All five scorers for Carleton earned All-Region status.

No. 3 Carleton scored a total of 48 points. No. 21-ranked UW-Eau Claire came in second place, with a score of 68. The third-place finisher was No. 12 UW-La Crosse with a final total of 77 points, with No. 22 St. Olaf coming in fourth place with a tally of 114 points.

"This team accomplished a tremendous feat," said Carleton head coach
Donna Ricks. "We have great respect for the teams in the North Region as these women's teams are some of the strongest in the country.

"Consistency in racing is key. Throughout the season, this team has continued to develop their race strategy and implemented it today with confidence, knowing that they have put forth the preparation."

Hannah Preisser led the way for the Knights finishing in third place overall with a time of 21:31.5. Next up for Carleton was
Phoebe Ward, finishing sixth overall with a time of 21:41.5.

Aliya Larsen was the next scorer for the Knights, coming in eighth place overall with a time of 21:59.3.
Sophie McManus immediately followed her, coming in ninth place with a time of 22:02.8.

"Alyia had a breakout race today, finishing in our top 3," Ricks said. "It has been fun to watch her development over the season."

Mary Blanchard was the final scorer for Carleton, taking 22nd place with a time of 22:28.0. With a total of 199 runners, the Knights had all 7 of their runners in the top 50.

Libby Rowland and
Nora Daley were Carleton's sixth and seventh runners at this meet. They finished43rd and 45th, respectively, with times of 23:06.0 and 23:07.0, the latter clocking a personal best time.

Up Next for the Knights
Carleton will race in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18. That race will be held at Big Spring High School in in Newville, Penn.
