NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College football team (6-2, 4-2 MIAC) was unable to get its normally-high powered offense rolling, falling 40-0 to Bethel University (6-2, 5-1 MIAC).
 
The Royals', who are receiving votes in the D3football.com top-25 poll, put up 489 yards of offense and limited Carleton, which entered the day averaging 31.7 points, to only 124 total yards.
 
Bethel had three plays of 50 yards or more that led to touchdowns for the Royals. Aaron Ellingson had two of the scores, a 51-yard run in the first quarter and a short pass from George Bolt in the second quarter that he turned into an 80-yard touchdown.
 
Jack Curtis, who came into the game 10
th in NCAA Division III at 301.6 passing yards per contest, finished the day 17-of-31 for 90 yards. Six different players caught passes for the Knights, including five receptions for 38 yards by 
Nathan Streiff, and four receptions for 26 yards by 
Ntense Obono.
 
Defensively, the Knights were led by 
Henry Detmer, who tallied a game-high nine tackles. 
Luis Miranda, 
Isaac Simons, and 
CJ Richards each recorded eight stops of their own. In addition, 
Luke Sugalski recorded a sack, and 
Spencer Goetz recovered a fumble.
 
The Knights travel to Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday, November 4. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Hollingsworth Stadium.
