HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. –
Aswath "Ozzie" Viswanathan (Jr./Lincolnshire, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) prevailed in both singles and doubles and
Tarm Rojanasoonthon (Fy./Bangkok, Thailand/Chulalongkorn) bested his nationally-ranked foe in singles, but the Carleton College men's tennis team saw its five-match win streak halted with a 6-3 loss at the hands of No. 34 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
The Warhawks (14-1) took a 2-1 lead after doubles. The Carleton (9-2) point came at third doubles where Viswanathan and
William Walsh (Sr./San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) paired for their third straight victory, this one by an 8-5 margin.
In singles, Rojanasoonthon dropped the first set of his match against John Zakowski, the No. 13-ranked player in the country but rallied to win 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 to stay undefeated at No. 1 singles in 2022.
"It was not a great first set for Tarm today in singles," said Carleton head coach
Stephan Zweifel, "but his game plan adjustment was pretty simple: if you are going through hell, just keep going."
Carleton's other team point came at No. 5 singles where Viswanathan came out on top 7-6 (7-1), 6-1.
"Ozzie put on a tremendous display in singles and doubles," Zweifel said. "Watching his excitement playing college tennis reminds me that amateurs built the ark, professionals built the Titanic."

Carleton's next match will be a non-conference meeting at Luther College on Saturday, April 9.
