OWATONNA, Minn. – Four Knights won in both singles and doubles as the Carleton College men's tennis team registered a 9-0 victory over St. Scholastica. The match marked the Knights return to conference play for the first time in nearly four weeks.
Carleton (5-1, 2-0 MIAC) bounced back after a non-conference loss to Carthage College last weekend.
Yuv Kataria (So./Kolkata, India/Weil Academy & College Prep) and
Aniketh Vipparla (So./Cary, N.C./Green Hope) combined on a dominating 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. The pairing then won their individual singles matches in straight sets, including a 6-0, 6-1 triumph for Vipparla at the No. 6 slot.
"Aniketh's game is 50 percent talent, 40 percent hustle, and 20 percent focus on details," explained Carleton head coach
Stephan Zweifel.
Tarm Rojanasoonthon (Fy./Bangkok, Thailand/Chulalongkorn) and
Aswath Viswanathan (Jr./Lincolnshire, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) joined forces on an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Rojanasoonthon later added his fifth straight No. 1 singles victory, while Viswanathan contributed a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles.
Bence Kisgeczi (Sr./Budapest, Hungary/Szent István) and
Noah Mueller (Jr./Dubai, UAE/German International School Dubai) teamed up for the other doubles victory, while
Xander Roti (Sr./Locust Valley, N.Y./Friends Academy) and
