ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Carleton College women's basketball team shot a season-low 31 percent as the Knights dropped a 77-52 contest at MIAC-leading Hamline University.
The Knights (1-5, 0-5 MIAC) jumped out to a 6-0 advantage and led 10-8 with four minutes remaining in the first quarter. Hamline (7-0, 5-0 MIAC) responded with a 21-3 run over the next nine minutes of game action and maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
Amelia Solt paced the Knights with 14 points and two steals, while
Jasmine Choi added 11 points and six rebounds.
Emma Henry pulled down a game-high 10 boards.
A dozen players scored for the Pipers, led by Michaela Stamer's 17-points off the bench. The Hamline reserves actually outscored the starters, 41-36, on the night.
The Knights were only 2-of-14 (14 percent) from 3-point range, while the Pipers shot 47 percent overall and were 10-of-28 (36 percent) from downtown. Carleton committed 20 turnovers leading to 31 points for Hamline.
