ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A cold shooting performance hampered the Knights ability to keep pace with host Hamline University as the Carleton College women's basketball team lost 80-45 on Wednesday evening. The Knights (4-8, 3-6 MIAC) shot only 25 percent as they wrapped up a four-game road trip while the Pipers (9-2, 7-1 MIAC) connected at a 47 percent clip, including 52 percent (13-of-25) from beyond the arc.
Â
Isabelle Henry (So./Prior Lake, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) went 4-of-8 from 3-point range en route to a career-best 17 points.
Jasmine Choi (So./Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) was the only other Knight in double figures with 10 points.
Â
Jill Yanai (Sr./Glendale, Calif./Glendale) finished with six points, four rebounds, and a career high-tying five steals.
Â
Carleton led 14-13 after Henry drained a 3-pointer with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter. Hamline proceeded to go on a 21-1 run over the next seven minutes as the Knights missed 11 consecutive shots. Henry finally halted the Carleton dry spell with another triple at the 4:26 mark in the second quarter, but the damage was done.
Â
The Pipers led 38-23 at intermission and never looked back as they maintained possession of second place in the conference standings.
Â
Larisa O'Neil paced four Hamline in double figures with 27 points as she went 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. Sophie Findell added 15 points, while Lydia Lecher and Tess Hauer each had 11 points and seven rebounds.
