MINNEAPOLIS – The Carleton College women's basketball team came up with a season-best 16 steals, including a career-high six for
Isabelle Henry (So./Prior Lake, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels), but the Knights could not overcome hot shooting by Augsburg University in dropping a 72-45 decision to the conference co-leaders.
Henry finished with a career-high 13 points to lead the Knights (2-3, 1-2 MIAC).
Aurora Davis (Fy./Tualatin, Ore./Tualatin) added nine points.
Jill Yanai (Sr./Glendale, Calif./Glendale) returned to the lineup and contributed six points, five rebounds, four assists, and two assists.
Augsburg (4-3, 4-0 MIAC) never trailed and put the game out of reach by outscoring Carleton 28-10 during the second quarter.
Anja Smith paced the Auggies in scoring, coming off the bench to tally her game-high 23 points. Kalena Myers added 18 points, while Jen Masello chipped in 14 points.
Carleton went only 1-for-16 from 3-point range (6 percent), while the Auggies went 9-for-19 (47 percent) from the same location. Augsburg shot 58.8 percent overall, the best shooting performance against the Knights since St. Thomas made 63.9 percent of its attempts on Dec. 5, 2015.
