Senior Spotlight: Lewis White

The PEAR Department is taking this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the seniors on our spring sports teams. While we are sad that we were unable to watch them compete this season, we are excited about what the future holds for each of them. Keep checking back in the coming weeks as we take the time to highlight each of these individuals. Click here for our Senior Spotlight archive.

I will be doing market research at a company in Chicago.

What was your favorite sports moment at Carleton?
One of my matches in the fall tournament was about three hours long. Before the third set, Stephan brought me a new Carleton tennis shirt to change into. I love free t-shirts.

Why did you choose Carleton?
I chose Carleton because everyone I met was really nice and the people seemed to not take themselves too seriously.

Outside of athletics, what will you miss most about Carleton?
I will miss playing spikeball with my friends and other guys on the team.

What else has your Carleton experience included?
I danced in Carleton's Experimental Dance Board (EDB) group.

What is one piece of advice you would give to prospective student-athletes?
While it is important to focus on playing your best, you will remember the team and fun times spent together better than any result or ranking.

What is a favorite memory you have of your head coach?
All of the jokes he tells throughout practice to keep everything light hearted.

Quote from Coach Stephan Zweifel:
"A human backboard, Lewis can dismantle an opponent with the patience and endurance of an Iditarod sled dog."
