Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- Carleton, playing its second nationally-ranked Division III foe of the season, battled but lost a 7-0 decision to 21st-ranked DePauw (Ind.).
The Knights (3-3) played close at second and third doubles, but lost the point. All six singles matches were straight-set affairs, but Andrew Tulloch at fourth singles and Rob Stern at sixth played very close matched. Carleton's three losses have come to 11th-ranked Carthage College (Wis.), 21st-ranked DePauw and Division I Binghamton (N.Y.).
Carleton's final match of its spring break trip was rained out, so the Knights will return to play on Friday, April 1, facing Division II St. Cloud State at 7 p.m.
