Marcus Pearson joined Carleton’s as its Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in January 2023.
Pearson came to Carleton from Centre College where he worked with the Colonels’ 600 student-athletes across 23 varsity sports. He came to Centre in August 2019 as a strength & conditioning assistant coach and in July 2021 was promoted to Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and Director of the Buck Fitness Center.
Prior to arriving at Centre, Pearson spent one year as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at the University of Kentucky, where he worked with the Wildcats’ women's soccer, baseball, track & field, swimming, and cheerleading squads.
Additionally, Pearson spent three years working in the strength & conditioning program at his alma mater, Eastern Kentucky University, where he played football from 2004-2007.
In between playing football at EKU and coming back to work there in 2014, Pearson spent more than four years as a cavalry scout in the United States Army.
Pearson completed both undergraduate and graduate degrees at Eastern Kentucky, earning his master’s in Exercise and Sport Science in 2016.
He holds certification with the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength & Conditioning Association in addition to Level-1 coach certification with USA Weightlifting and USA Track & Field.
