I CHOSE TO COME TO CARLETON BECAUSE…
I chose Carleton as I had an expansive introduction into what life would be like at Carleton, both as a student and athlete. I also push to challenge myself academically and I felt that Carleton was a great school to push me to become a better student and person. From an athletic perspective I chose Carleton because I knew my coach wants to build me up as an athlete but also as a person. Having that connection with my coach and team beyond basketball is something I looked forward to when I committed to Carleton in 2021.
WHAT I MOST LIKE ABOUT CARLETON IS…
I like the friendships that I created and the major I chose.
OFF-CAMPUS STUDY OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
History, Culture, Commerce in African and Arabia. Having the opportunity to engage in student activities along with being an athlete has enhanced my experience as a college student. Being able to experience other places around the world with the assistance of my school/program as an experience I recommend to all students. I was able to meet new people from Carleton, along with people around the world.
INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Diversity Summer Internship Program. I spent 8 weeks conducting independent graduate-level research in one of the Biostatistics department at Johns Hopkins along with presenting my research. This experience is another step in the direction of my future ambitions for a career. It also provided me with new opportunities from a different institution and skills that I can apply to classes at Carleton.
