INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Northfield Public Library. I worked as a Community Outreach and Engagement Assistant, meaning that I worked with the outreach programs at the library. A normal day for me would maybe include doing bilingual storytime (English/Spanish), going on the Bookmobile to one of the local summer programs at the middle or high school, and then working on preparing materials for the English and Spanish conversation tables I hosted. Other than that, I filled my time by creating social media posts to promote library programs and helping shelve books.
MY INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
I'm still finishing the internship, but it has given me a chance to keep up my Spanish, as I have been using it daily. It also has given me the chance to see how things I've learned at Carleton apply in the real world.
