Plotz, a 2000 graduate from Iowa State University and former team captain for the Cyclones, joined the Carleton coaching staff in 2005. She was named MIAC Coach-of-the-Year while acting as the interim head coach during Andy Clark's 2007-2008 sabbatical. During her fifth year at Iowa State she served a year on the Cyclones coaching staff after her eligibility was complete. Plotz then served as head swimming and diving coach at Williamsburg (Iowa) High School while teaching at an elementary school. She also has club coaching experience.
Plotz appreciates that Carleton offers her the “opportunity to work with student-athletes who are multi-faceted – excelling in both their academic and athletic endeavors”. In addition to coaching for the Knights, Plotz is the student-work supervisor for the lifeguard staff and teaches aquatics classes, including an Instructional Swim class every term. In her 15 years, roughly 600 students have learned to swim in this class. She and her husband, Jared, reside in Lakeville, Minn. with their two sons.
