INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
At Carleton College, for the summer of 2021, I worked with Professor Anya Vostinar in the Computer Science department where we did digital evolution research. We used agent-based modeling of virtual organisms in order to investigate the parasitism-mutualism spectrum. In particular, we worked with viruses, or bacteriophage, and asked questions about what environmental conditions would lead to the evolution of more parasitic viruses or more mutualistic viruses.

My work with Professor Vostinar greatly expanded upon my skill set as a computer scientist and prepared me for future research. With her help, my application for graduate programs is much stronger.

Outdoor exploration (hiking, backpacking, paddle boarding, open water swimming), crocheting, jewelry making, and more crafts!
