MY INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
I was a clinical research intern for Dr. Justin Nguyen in the transplant department at Mayo Clinic Florida. My internship was a mixture of doing clinical research, shadowing various operations and patient clinic visits, and learning liver/kidney transplant techniques from Dr. Nguyen and other staff. I enjoyed getting to apply the concepts we learn in class to real life patient care. It makes me excited for what is still to come in my career in medicine.
