INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Externship with Twain Financial - - During my two weeks at Twain, I went through the new-hire training, entered data into the company database, toured other companies around St.Louis, and had a mini-research project. The new-hire training consisted of several hour-long meetings with different branches of Twain. Through these meetings, I was able to develop a solid understanding of Twain’s business model. The data entry that I did became monotonous, but I learned about loans and credit ratings, so it was of use. My favorite part of my externship was the day I spent at a company called Cultivation Capital. It is a large Venture Capital Firm based out of St.Louis.

After finishing my externship, I believe that I will continue to pursue a career in the financial industry. The experience that I had at Twain was beneficial to help me understand what financial firms do and how I will be able to apply my Carleton education to the real world.
