The experience made me realize that my time at Carleton is finite and taught me to value the time I have left with my friends and teammates.
 
INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Dauphin Island Sea Lab. I worked as an NSF REU intern in Dr. Robertson’s Marine Ecotoxicology Lab at Dauphin Island Sea Lab where I conducted a research project to better understand bioactivity of toxic secondary metabolites of benthic dinoflagellates. Specifically, I looked into acetylcholine inhibition and red blood cell lysis when exposed to the toxic algae.

I was able to apply skills I'd learned at Carleton, as well as bring many new skills back to campus, enriching my Carleton classes and labs.
