Northfield Golf Club, located a few blocks from the Carleton College campus, is the home course for the Knights' men's and women's golf teams. NGC is one of the oldest private clubs in Minnesota and features a challenging 18-hole redesigned course, in addition to a conveniently located short game facility.
The history of Northfield Golf Club stretches back almost 90 years. The course opened in 1926 as a 9-hole layout on the edge of town along the Cannon River. Additional acreage, purchased in 1975, allowed expansion to 18 holes to include a short game practice facility. Today this scenic championship course plays at more than 6,700 yards for the men and at more than 5,700 yards for the women.
Both the Carleton men's and women's teams practice on site during the fall and spring portions of the season. They also take advantage of the short game practice facility and the nearby driving range.
