As the primary training and competition facility for the Carleton men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams, Thorpe pool is 25-yard, six-lane, 350-seat facility located in West Gymnasium. The depth of the pool varies from a shallow end of 4 feet to 12 feet at the diving end.

The Carleton swimming and diving teams host multiple home meets each season from Thorpe Pool, which is also used for lap swims, club water polo and synchronized swimming, and activity classes.

West Gym was designed by renowned architect Minoru Yamasaki, who was later commissioned to build the World Trade Center in New York. West Gym's 'three domed' appearance make it one of the most unique facilities in small college athletics.
