OFF-CAMPUS STUDY PROGRAM(S) PARTICIPATED IN AT CARLETON:
Microeconomics Development in Bangladesh

MY OFF-CAMPUS STUDY PROGRAM ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
I enjoyed my two-week OCS program in Bangladesh because I connected with the local people, learned about the history, language, and culture of Bangladesh, and listened to villagers' stories about the positive impact of microfinance on their businesses and families. This study abroad experience has inspired me to help those in our international community, and I helped to start a non-profit organization called Nourish Bangladesh with some of my classmates and my economics professor. For over a year, we have been actively fundraising for the fight against hunger in Bangladesh.

INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
At the Bank of Hawaii I worked in the Enterprise Credit Risk Analytics division. To support the CRO, I read transcripts of second quarter earnings calls from national, regional, and local banks and helped my manager prepare for credit-related questions. I also inputted some of the numbers and graphs for the second quarter earnings presentation, and I updated and checked data in spreadsheets related to credit.

MY INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
My internship encouraged me to ask thoughtful questions and to challenge myself to think critically. These skills are important in the classroom as well. Similar to my co-workers and managers, my classmates and professors at Carleton promote intellectual curiosity which I embrace as a life-long learner.
