MY OFF-CAMPUS STUDY PROGRAM ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
As a low-income student, it was nice to have Carleton cover my expenses to study abroad in Europe. It was nice to escape rural Minnesota for a bit. My experiences studying abroad truly changed my life, as cliche as that sounds, unfortunately it's true. The summer before my senior year, I also had the opportunity to return to Berlin to continue research I conducted there that will hopefully funnel into my Senior Comps for my SOAN major.
INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES DURING MY TIME AS A CARLETON STUDENT:
Carleton College where I served as a research assistant for my favorite professor (I love you Wes!!!) on his research on “Protecting Sacred Waters: Indigenous and Western Meanings of Spirituality and Science in the Battle Over Line 3”.
MY INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE AS A CARLETON STUDENT-ATHLETE BECAUSE…
Especially for the social sciences, it is difficult to find research opportunities. However, I was able to find this opportunity right at my own school with my own SOAN advisor and favorite professor. This experience taught me a lot about the nature of social science research and expanded my interests and knowledge base on the subject as I did not have much prior experience before this.
