WINONA, Minn. – The Carleton College men's tennis team returned to competition for the first time in 16 weeks but showed no sign of rust as the Knights swept both Lawrence University and Saint Mary's University by matching 7-0 scores.

Zach Leslie, and
Yihe Zhang each went a perfect 4-0 on Sunday with wins in doubles and singles in both matches.
Carleton 7, Lawrence 0
The Knights (6-0, 3-0 MIAC) started the day against Lawrence (2-2) with a sweep of doubles as
Baiyun Jing and
Zach Leslie prevailed 6-3 atop the lineup. Bernhard and
Jack Rivkin won 6-0 at the second slot, and the pairing of Heidtke and Zhang blanked their opponents at the third slot.
Leslie, Bernhard, Heidtke, and Zhang each made quick work of their opponents at No. 2 through No. 5 singles, respectively, as each Knight prevailed by a 6-0, 6-0 tally.
Miles Lee added a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the sixth slot, while Jing outlasted the Vikings' William Reichen for a 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (10-5) triumph at No. 1 singles.
Carleton 7, Saint Mary's 0
The Knights picked up their second victory of the day and remained undefeated in conference play by dispatching of Saint Mary's (1-3, 1-0 MIAC) in quick fashion.
Leslie and Rivkin notched a 6-3 triumph at No. 1 doubles, while Bernhard and Heidtke won 6-1 at the second slot. The duo of Lee and Zhang swept their opponents at the third slot in the lineup, 6-0.
Carleton captured all six singles matches in straight sets. Jing claimed his third win of the day, this one by a 6-1, 6-0 tally at No. 1 singles, matching the score that Leslie posted at the second slot. Heidtke and Lee notched 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Bernhard added a 6-0, 6-2 win at the third spot, and Zhang contributed a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at the fifth slot.

Carleton will play another doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 7 as the Knights face Carthage College at 10:30 a.m. followed by a 4:30 p.m. match versus Carroll University at 4:30 p.m. Both contests will be held at the Owatonna (Minn.) Tennis Center.
