NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Carleton College men's golf lost to crosstown rival St. Olaf College by a score of 5-4 in the programs' Rusty Putter Match. The match-play competition was held at Northfield Golf Club.
 
In this year's contest, the first six holes were best ball match play, the second six holes scramble match play, and the last six holes alternate shot match play.
 
Former Carleton head coach Jerry Erickson was given the "Rusty Putter" many years ago at Prestwick Golf Course in Scotland. It became the traveling trophy for the yearly matchup between the two schools.
