MONTICELLO, Minn. – The No. 44 Carleton College men's golf team finished fourth out of 15 teams at the Saint John's Spring Invitational. Sam Higaki paced the Knights, tying for fourth place in a field of 85 golfers.
 
No. 29 Gustavus Adolphus College won the tournament posting a team score of 574, just two shots ahead of No. 32 Saint John's University (576). No. 34 Bethel University (592) finished in third place, followed by the Knights with a team total of 602 (+30, 299-303)
 
Higaki finished the weekend shooting even par with rounds of 71 and 72. In today's round he was the only golfer to play the par 3s under par, playing them at two-under. He also had a pair of birdies on his final four holes of the day.
 
Justin Rodriguez finished in a tie for 23rd place at 152 (+9, 77-75). He ended strong playing the back nine at two-under par with two birdies.
 
Gordon Walker contributed to the team score after carding a 79 in the second round. Walker's total score of 153 (+10, 74-79) placed him in a tie for 26th place.
 
Ryan Choi shot two birdies on the day and finished the weekend tied for 34th place. He rounded out the scoring for the Knights with a two-day total of 154 (+11, 77-77).
 
Gareth Birney posted a twelve-over-par 83 with a 43 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine of Sunday's round. His total for the tournament was 165 (+22, 82-83)
 
Dillon Croco played as an individual and tied for 44th place with a two-day score of 157 (+14, 77-80).
