LE SUEUR, Minnesota – Ryan Choi carded a team-leading 6-over par after 36 holes as the Carleton College men's golf team finished day one in sixth place out of 15 teams at the Bobby Krig Invite hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
 
The host team leads the field by four strokes at +18 (578) followed by UW-Eau Claire at +22 (582). Bethel University is in third place at +27 (587), then Saint John's University "A" team at +30 (590). The "B" team for the Johnnies finished the day at +43 (603), one shot ahead of the Knights who shot 298 in round one and 306 in round two for a total of 604 (+44).
 
Choi is currently in a four-way tie for ninth place in the field of 90 golfers. His first round included three birdies on his way to a one-over par 71. The second round ended with a score of five-over par bringing his day one total to +6 (71+75=146).
 
Sam Higaki finished the day at +9 (75+74=149) and is in 18th place with a group of eight golfers.
 
Justin Rodriguez carded a +4 (74) in the first round, then started his second round with five straight bogeys. He finished the round at +8 (78) and is tied for 32nd overall.
 
Gordon Walker was the Knights' final scorer on the day. He finished the two rounds at +17 (78+79=157).
