MINNEAPOLIS – The Carleton College women's swimming & diving team sits in fifth place after the abbreviated first day of the MIAC Championships.
The day's schedule included only two events: the 200-yard medley relay and 800-yard freestyle relay.
In the former event, the Knights finished fourth, earning All-MIAC honorable mention.
Grace Hou, Emma Yao, Daya Tucker, and Zoe Morton combined on a time of 1:47.18, which slots the quartet just outside the top-five in program history.
In the 800-yard freestyle relay,
Chelsea Andersen,
Ella Grogan,
Nora Wootten, and
Stephanie Baranov finished fifth with a time of 7:53.11.
"The relay swims were exactly what we needed to get the championships started," said Carleton associate head coach
Brooke Plotz. "Momentum is moving in the right direction. There is a lot of meet left; the goal is to be present and take it one race or one dive at a time."
