OWATONNA, Minn. – The Carleton College men's tennis team picked up its third straight win and improved to 6-1 on the season with a 7-0 non-conference triumph over Central College.
Baiyun Jing,
Zach Leslie, and
Jasper Yang each won in both singles and doubles play.
The Knights (6-1) captured the doubles point after winning 2 of 3 contests. Jing and Leslie teamed for a 6-2 victory at the second slot, while Yang and
Ezra Bernhard prevailed 6-1 at the third slot. Central's (0-1) lone win came via a 7-5 decision at No. 1 doubles.
Carleton swept the six singles matches, with Jing leading the way with his 6-3, 6-2 triumph atop the lineup.
"I was always a big fan of Baiyun's game," said Carleton head coach
Stephan Zweifel, "but after today's stellar performance, I am upgrading to an air conditioner."
Yang added a 6-2, 6-1 win at the second spot, while Leslie scored a 6-1, 6-3 result at No. 4 singles.
The other three singles victories came from the rookie class.
Aiden Patel prevailed 6-0, 6-3 at the third slot;
Andrew Sretavan notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, and
Miles Lee rounded out the scorecard with his 6-2, 6-3 triumph at the sixth spot.

Carleton heads to Wisconsin for non-conference matches against Carthage College (Feb. 8) and Carroll University (Feb. 9).
