NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Luke Harris poured in a game high 26 points — his 10th game of a least 20 points this season — and Tysen Hayes chipped in a career high 10 points off the bench, but the Carleton College men's basketball team fell 90-74 to No. 12-ranked Saint John's University.

The two teams traded blows early as the first 13 minutes of action saw nine lead changes and six ties. With 6:13 to play before intermission, the scoreboard was knotted at 29-29 before Saint John's (17-2, 10-0 MIAC) embarked on a 13-1 run to take a 42-30 lead. By the end of the first half, Carleton (13-7, 6-5 MIAC) trailed 49-39.

The Knights chipped away at the deficit early in the second half, closing within 62-56 with 11:10 still to play. Kyle Johnson, who led the Johnnies with 17 points off the bench, converted a layup on the next possession to spark a 15-3 run that ultimately put the game out of reach.

Saint John's out-rebounded Carleton 49-26, including 17 offensive rebounds leading to a 25-3 edge in second-chance points.

With 11 points, Matt Drake was the other player in double figures for the Knights, who finished 23-of-59 (39.0 percent) from the field, 7-of-14 (50 percent) from 3-point range, and 21-of-27 (77.8 percent) from the line.
