NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Nina Schwab broke two school records, highlighting a day on which the Carleton College women's swimming & diving team won 15 events overall en route to a 219-81 triumph over College of Saint Benedict in a dual meet at Thorpe Pool.
 
During the 1-meter diving competition, Schwab established new Carleton standards for 6-dive (280.10) and 11-dive scores (462.70). Her 6-dive tally bested the previous team record of 268.79 set by Kapani Kirkland '22 in 2020, and the 11-dive total surpassed the standard of 454.10 that was set by Angie Soucek '02 in 2001. Schwab's totals exceeded the previous Thorpe Pool benchmarks of 277.90 held since 2012 by Jennifer Easton of St. Thomas and 459.05 established by Emi Quill of Saint Benedict in 2020.
 
Schwab also won the 3-meter diving competition on Saturday, with 6-dive score of 288.15.
 
On Schwab's heels was teammate Hailey Westrup, who set new lifetime bests for 6-dive scores on both boards. She totaled 249.15 points on the lower board and 272.05 points on the higher board. Additionally, Westrup established a new personal best 11-dive score on the 1-meter board (425.05) as she secured her spot at the NCAA Diving Regional in March after posting a second qualifying score.
 
Westrup now ranks No. 3 all time on Carleton's 1-meter leaderboard (see chart below).
 
While the divers were grabbing the spotlight, the Carleton swimmers found success throughout the afternoon.
 
Grace Hou, Emma Yao, Isabelle Riley, and Zoe Morton opened the swimming portion of the day with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay as they combined on a time of 1:51.75. All four of them would win individual events during the afternoon.
• Hou added a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing at 1:00.31.
• Yao prevailed in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.90.
• Riley was first to the wall in the 100-yard butterfly with her winning time of 1:04.29.
• Morton was victorious in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.88) and the 100-yard freestyle (55.41)
 
Chelsea Andersen garnered top honors in the 1650-yard freestyle. Later on, she prevailed in the 500-yard freestyle with a winning time of 5:27.78.
 
Nora Wootten paced a 1-2-3-4 finish for Carleton in the 200-yard butterfly as she covered the distance in 2:22.25.
 
Daya Tucker notched the win with a time of 25.79 in the 50-yard freestyle.
 
Aubrey Tran picked up the victory in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:26.10, edging the top St. Ben's swimmer by less than a half-second.
 
Stephanie Baranov had the final solo win of the day for Carleton, taking top honors in the 200-yard IM with a winning time of 2:20.50.
 
Morton, Tucker, Hou, and Baranov capped the day with a triumph in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quartet combined on a time of 1:41.99.
