HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The No. 39-ranked Carleton College women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over St. Ambrose University. All six Knights in the lineup for this match won in both singles and doubles.
Amanda Black and
Kat Smiricinschi secured an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles,
Piper Brown and
Zoe Rose blanked their opponents at No 2 doubles, and
Kiley Pickens and
Kathryn Burton completed the sweep with an 8-2 tally at No. 3 doubles.
The Knights (8-0) dominated in singles, dropping only one game in total over the six matches. Pickens moved to a team-best 8-0 on the season and picked up her first career victory at No. 1 singles as she posted a 6-0, 6-0 result. Smiricinschi prevailed 6-0, 6-1 at the second slot.
Rose, Brown, and Burton each remained undefeated in singles play this season after posting 6-0, 6-0 victories at the third, fourth, and sixth spots, respectively. Brown made her 2023-24 singles debut and added a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles.
